The Markusson family has a history of being involved with Agriculture in Saskatchewan since 1961. Markusson New Holland's president, Hartley Markusson's grandfathers were early pioneers from the Foam Lake area. They arrived in the late 1800's, and the Markusson family homestead is still being farmed by their descendants Sheldon and Tyler Markusson.
In 1961, Hart Markusson (Hartley's father) founded the farm machinery dealership in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan called Southside Service. He was a great businessman and built a reputation for providing fair deals and superior service to local farmers. Hart's youngest son, Hartley, with his wife, Lorraine, began managing areas of the dealership in 1974.
